
Otters Lose 13-8 Tonight at Rockford

(LOVES PARK, Illinois) Evansville was up by three runs early but Rockford fought back for a 13-8 win tonight at RiverHawks Stadium.
Evansville held a 3-0 lead to begin the game following a two-run home run from Runey Davis. Rockford would then rally back to score the next six runs of the game and take the three run lead.
The Otters nudged back again in the fourth inning on a two-run homer from infielder Taylor Black. It was the first home run for Black and Davis as members of the Evansville Otters.
Leading by just a run, Rockford responded with five more runs in the fifth and would go on to win the game 13-8.
Outfielder Javier Herrera went 5-for-5 in the win, recording the first cycle in RiverHawks history while also tying the franchise record for most hits and RBIs in a game.
The RiverHawks have now won back to back games, improving to 14-23 overall. With the loss, the Otters are now 15-23.
Right-hander Mike Lee (3-0) is the winning pitcher. Lee allowed five runs (two earned) in 5.0 innings. The loss goes to Evansville's starter Bryce Morrow (2-4), who pitched 4.1 innings in the defeat.
Evansville and Rockford will meet again in the series finale Friday night at RiverHawks Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. as left-hander Matt Zielinski (3-3, 4.27 Earned Run Average) will start for the Otters against fellow lefty Ziggy Vander Wall (3-1, 3.90 ERA).
