
Nine Rippers on All-Star Ballot

LONDON, ONTARIO - The Frontier League has sent out their all-star voting ballots for the 2012 State Farm All-Star Game in Normal, Illinois.
Nine London Rippers are eligible to be selected, including the league's leading hitter, Joash Brodin (.411 average, 7 home runs, 37 RBIs) at first base in the East Division.
Aaron Glaum (.267 average, 10 stolen bases) is on the 2nd base ballot, along with Justino Cuevas (.261 average, 9 runs scored) under shortstops.
Rippers' catcher, Jim Vahalik (.275 average, 7 RBIs, 31 games played) is among the six potential back-stops.
And five London pitchers appear on the ballot - the second most of any team in the East Division, behind Southern Illinois who has six hurlers listed.
Mississauga natives, David Francis (2.57 ERA 5 saves) and Jamie Richmond (3-2 2.75, 46 strikeouts) are present, along with Sheng-An Kuo (0-4, 3.12 ERA), Yohan Gonzalez (3-2 2.21 ERA) and Matt Schimpf (2-2 2.93 ERA).
Each team is allowed up to eight representatives from the organization to vote. The deadline for submissions is July 3rd .
The first 24 players for each division will be announced on Wednesday, July 4.
The field managers in first place in each division after games on that day will serve as managers for the All-Star Game and will select the final three players per division.
The 2012 State Farm Frontier League Home Run Derby will be held on July 10th at The Corn Crib, with the All-Star Game being played on July 11th .
