The Evansville Otters (37-40) start a nine-game homestand tonight with game one of a weekend series against the Gateway Grizzlies (45-33).

It is Henderson County Chamber of Commerce Night with first pitch set for 6:35 pm CDT at Historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana.

Evansville just completed a three game series at the Florence Freedom, going 1-2 in the games at UCMC Stadium. Outfielder John Schultz was 4-for-4 in the final game, reaching base in all five plate appearances last night. Schultz recorded eight hits in the series, has hit safely in five straight games, and is now batting .306 this season.

Catcher John Nester has also hit safely in five straight games for Evansville.

Gateway has won the first five meetings against Evansville this season, before the Otters won the series finale at Gateway 3-2 on July 14 in 11 innings.

The Otters enter tonight's game with a Frontier League best .267 batting average.

Evansville has left-hander Ryan Gibson (0-5, 4.09 ERA) on the mound tonight against righty Aaron Baker (1-2, 3.52 ERA).

Gibson is making the ninth start of his professional career this evening. Gibson is in search of his first professional win.

Closer Eric Massingham is also on the verge of a historic moment. Massingham has a franchise record 56 saves as an Evansville Otter and is currently tied with Bobby Chandler for most saves in Frontier League history. With a save tonight, Massingham will have the record for most saves in the Frontier League.
