Baker Throws Six as Grizzlies Fall to Evansville

EVANSVILLE, IN - Nick Schwaner hit two home runs powering the Evansville Otters to a 4-2 victory against the Gateway Grizzlies Friday night at Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana.

Schwaner hit a two run home run to tie the game in the fourth inning, and went deep again in the sixth. His sixth inning solo homer gave the Otters the lead for good. Schwaner ended the game 3-for-4. He was one of seven Evansville players to record a hit.

Evansville added an insurance run in the seventh inning off a John Schultz RBI single.

Gateway was held to three hits. Jose Flores led the way for the Gateway offense. He was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jet Butler also had a hit. Evansville pitching struck out 12 Grizzlies.

Aaron Baker (1-3) took the loss. He went six innings and gave up three runs on eight hits. He also struck out two and walked one. The win went to Anthony Collazo (1-2). It was his first win since being traded to the Otters from the Washington Wild Things earlier this month.

Eric Massingham notched the save (14).
