Otters Eye First Place, Host Washington for Weekend Series at Bosse

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters (46-30) begin a three-game weekend series against the first place Washington Wild Things (48-30) on Friday night.

First pitch is set for 6:35 pm CDT at historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana.

It is Kyndle Night and Henderson County Chamber of Commerce Night.

Fans can call 812-435-8686 to purchase tickets.

The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 6:15 pm CDT.

RHP Preston Olson (7-3, 2.64 ERA) will start for the Otters against Wild Things righty Shawn Blackwell (9-4, 3.64 ERA). Olson has the fifth lowest ERA in the league and the second most complete games (2). Olson also has thrown a quality start in 11 of his 14 appearances this season.

Evansville is 44-56 all-time against Washington. The Otters won two of three meetings against the Wild Things in July at Bosse Field.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Houck is on a 15 game hitting streak for the Otters. Outfielder John Schultz (9) also has an extended hitting streak as well.

The Otters are 25-15 at home this season.
