Last time out...
Ian MacDougall (6-3) tossed eight strong innings and the Traverse City Beach Bums (32-46) knocked off the Florence Freedom (32-44) by a final score of 4-1 Thursday night. Florence took the early lead when Buddy Sosnoskie doubled down the left field line to lead-off the third. One out later Rolando Gomez singled him home to put the Freedom up 1-0. But the Beach Bums rallied right away against Freedom starter Michael O'Neal (2-4) in the bottom of the third. Jake Rhodes drew a walk and Scott Woodward singled up the middle. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners over and Jeff DeBlieux hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game. Jose Vargas followed with a RBI double and the Beach Bums took a 2-1 lead. They added another run in the fourth on a perfectly executed squeeze bunt by Josh Miller. A Jovan Rosa RBI single in the eighth provided another insurance run for the Beach Bums.
