Orioles Trachsel To Rehab In Frederick Saturday

Baltimore Orioles RHP Steve Trachsel will make a rehab start with the Frederick Keys against the Lynchburg Hillcats Saturday, July 14th at 6:30 p.m. at Harry Grove Stadium. It will be his first start in the Carolina League since his first season of professional baseball in 1991 when he was a member of the Winston-Salem Spirits.
Trachsel, in his first season with Baltimore, is in his 15th major league season. He has won 139 career games and is currently 5-6 with a 4.95 ERA in his first season with the Orioles.
He came up with the Chicago Cubs in 1993, just two seasons after being selected in the eighth round. Trachsel would pitch in the Windy City for seven seasons. The right-handed pitcher has spent 13 of his 15 major league seasons in the National League as he pitched for the New York Mets from 2001-06. He signed with Baltimore as a free agent this off-season.
Trachsel has been on the disabled list since June 30th with a strained gluteus muscle.
