ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Omaha Storm Chasers scored seven runs across the first three innings and held on to win, a 7-3 victory over the Rochester Red Wings, securing Omaha's third straight series win to end the first half.

Omaha wasted no time in the first inning, as John Rave and Kyle Isbel both reached base to start the game, then Logan Porter singled in Rave and Clay Dungan brough home Isbel for an early 2-0 lead that the Storm Chasers did not relinquish the rest of the game.

Rave singled in Tucker Bradley in the second inning for a 3-0 lead, then the Chasers added four runs in the third inning. Adeiny Hechavarria singled in Porter, then Jermaine Palacios used a sac fly to score Dungan. After Paxton Wallace collected his first Triple-A hit, Bradley singled in Hechavarria and Wallace scored moments before Bradley was caught stealing to end the inning for a 7-0 lead.

After a 1-2-3 first inning Omaha starting pitcher Alec Marsh (2-0) stranded the bases loaded in the second and third. In the third, Rochester loaded the bases with three straight infield singles but Marsh struck out three to work out of trouble.

The Red Wings struck for a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly and Matt Adams hit his second homer of the series in the fifth, a solo shot, but Marsh worked out of the fifth for a season-high 97 pitches over 5.0 innings with six strikeouts. This marked Marsh's third start of five innings in as many starts with Omaha and his second win with the Chasers.

Jonah Dipoto followed Marsh with a perfect sixth inning, then Amir Garrett threw a scoreless inning in his second MLB rehab appearance with Omaha.

Will Klein threw a scoreless eighth and kept the Red Wings to a run in the ninth, striking out two over 2.0 innings to finish off the game.

After striking for seven runs on eight hits against starting pitcher Willy Peralta, a 2018 Storm Chaser, the Rochester bullpen held Omaha to just one hit over the final six innings, a ninth inning double from Tyler Gentry.

After off days Monday and Tuesday, the Chasers return to action Wednesday at Werner Park, with a 12:05 p.m. CT first pitch against the Iowa Cubs to open the second half.
