Knights Drop Sunday's Finale to the Bats 19-7

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of a six-game series against the Louisville Bats by a score of 19-7 on Sunday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The game also marked the end of the season's first half. The Knights finished the first half at 35-40.

Center fielder Oscar Colás remained hot at the plate, launching his third home run over his last two games. Colás, who homered twice in Saturday's game, blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning of Sunday's game. The home run was his fifth of the season for the Knights, who split the six-game series with the Bats.

In addition to the home run from Colás, shortstop Lenyn Sosa also launched a solo home run in the sixth inning. The home run was his ninth of the season. Other offensive stars for the Knights on Sunday included Nate Mondou, who tripled home two runs in a four-run second inning. Right fielder Stephen Piscotty also chipped in with two hits.

LHP Nate Fisher (5-8, 5.23) started Sunday's game and was charged with the loss. He gave up six runs (three earned) on five hits over two innings. In all, eight Charlotte pitchers combined to allow 19 runs on 21 hits.

The Knights will now have two off days (Monday and Tuesday) before opening up the second half of the season on Wednesday night against the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles) from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA.
