DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs (16-28) fell 13-2 to the Omaha Storm Chasers (32-14), Saturday at Principal Park.

Iowa's starter Joe Biagini had his shortest start of the year, going just 1.2 innings, allowing four runs on five hits while walking one and striking out one. The Storm Chasers brought in four runs in the first on three singles.

Omaha added to their lead in the third, when Anderson Miller hit a solo shot for his seventh home run of the year. Already up 5-0, the Storm Chasers put up eight runs in the fifth inning, extending their lead to 13-0.

Nick Dini and Gabriel Cancel each doubled, while Miller hit his second homer of the game and third of the series. On the other side, Omaha's starter Daniel Lynch earned his fourth win of the year, silencing Iowa's offense through five scoreless innings. He allowed just four hits and three walks while striking out seven I-Cubs batters.

Iowa scored a run in the sixth on a wild pitch and in the seventh on a balk. Scott Effross, Dillon Maples and Ryan Lawlor combined to throw 4.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen, but the damage had already been done, and Iowa fell 13-2.

POSTGAME NOTES:

- Iowa stranded a base runner in each of the first seven innings, leaving a total of 10 runners on-base.

- The I-Cubs struck out 15 times as a team tonight, and had five players with two or more strikeouts.

- Both runs Iowa scored came on mistakes from Omaha, a wild pitch and a balk from reliever Andres Sotillet.
