
O'Keefe Named Reebok ECHL Goalie of the Week

Elmira, NY- The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, are pleased to announce that goaltender Mitch O'Keefe has been named the Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Week for February 2nd -8th.
O'Keefe turned in a 2-0-0 record while helping the Jackals improve to 3-0-0 on the weekend. O'Keefe recorded his second shutout of the season in Elmira's 1-0 win over Johnstown at First Arena on Friday evening. The Almonte, Ontario product then turned in a 28 save performance, while stopping four of five shootout attempts in the Jackals 3-2 shootout victory in Wheeling on Saturday. In his two starts, O'Keefe compiled .958 save percentage and 0.96 goals against average. To add to the honors, O'Keefe helped the Jackals move into second place in the North Division.
The Ferris State University grad has compiled a 15-9-1 record with a goals against average of 2.91 and a save percentage of 0.895 in his rookie campaign. O'Keefe has been especially hard to beat in has past four games with a 4-0-0 record, a 1.47 goals against average, a .934 save percentage, a shootout win and a shutout.
With the Jackals sitting in second place in the North Division, one point out of first and one point ahead of third, this upcoming weekend means four big points. On Friday evening the Jackals host the Trenton Devils, it's WETM Candy Bar Night! On Saturday the Reading Royals return to First Arena. Both nights the Jackals will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off after Saturday nights game. Face-off is set for 7:35 p.m. both nights. Get your tickets now at 734-PUCK
