South Carolina's Dubuc Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - South Carolina Stingrays rookie Michael Dubuc is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Feb 2-8.

The 20 year old had six goals and nine points to help the Stingrays post back-to-back wins against South Division leader Florida.

Dubuc had a career-high five points and tied his career best with four goals in a 6-2 win against Florida on Saturday after scoring two points (1g-1a) in a 4-3 win against the Everblades on Friday. The four goals on Saturday were all scored on the power play tying the league high for power-play goals in a game.

Dubuc, who has a five-game point streak (7g-3a), is second among rookies and fourth overall with 28 goals while his 45 points are tied for seventh among rookies and tied for 16th overall. He leads the Stingrays and is tied for the league rookie lead with 11 power-play goals. He is under contract to Hershey of the American Hockey League and has played in three games for the Bears.

The 6-foot-2 and 177-pound forward has played the last four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he had 206 points (112g-94a) in 231 regular season games with Rouyn-Noranda and Prince Edward Island and 42 points (28g-14a) in 38 playoff games for Rouyn-Noranda.

On behalf of Michael Dubuc, a case of pucks will be donated to a South Carolina youth hockey organization by In Glas Co , the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 20,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
