BILOXI, MS - Twelve different players notched at least one point, and Ryan Menei, Mathieu Melanson, and Ryan Cruthers each scored two goals as the Mississippi Sea Wolves defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 9-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Tuesday evening.

The Sea Wolves got just their second shorthand goal of the season to ope the game when Jeremy Hall broke down the ice two-on-one and fed a pass over to Jeff Kyrzakos who hammered it home for his ninth goal of the year at 2:47. Just over a minute later, Ryan Cruthers drove to the right post and tapped in a centering pass from Alex Parent for his 24th goal of the season and first of the night. Mike Berry gave the Sea Wolves a 3-0 lead when his wrist shot from the high slot eluded Gladiators goaltender Joe Fallon 14:33 of the first. Gwinnett got on the board when Travis Fuller potted his seventh of the season at 15:32.

Mississippi came out of the chute in the second period with guns blazing, taking a 4-1 lead when Ryan Menei broke down the left wing and beat Fallon over the glove to chase the Gwinnett starter from the net in favor of Josh Johnson at 3:52. Mathieu Melanson's first goal of the night staked the Sea Wolves to a 5-1 when he scored on a breakaway at 4:47. Gwinnett would claw within two in the second period, getting markers from Pat Bateman at 5:38 and Myles Stoesz at 10:16.

Ryan Munce made 22 saves to earn the win and the Sea Wolves were 2-for-6 on the power play.
