DES MOINES, Iowa - The Oklahoma City Blue picked up a 116-107 road win over the Iowa Energy on Friday behind 21 points, 11 rebounds and three steals from Mitch McGary. The Oklahoma City Thunder forward shot 8-of-15 from the field in his 27 minutes of action.
Six Blue players scored in double figures as JP Tokoto led the offensive efforts with 23 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Marquis Teague scored 16 points and Boubacar Moungoro added 14. Talib Zanna recorded 14 points and nine boards and Dez Wells tallied 12 points off the bench.
The Blue defense forced 23 Iowa turnovers and swiped 16 steals - the second-most in the NBA D-League this season - along with seven blocked shots.
Oklahoma City went ahead two and half minutes into the game and never surrendered the lead for the remainder of the night. A 9-0 run late in the second quarter helped build a 59-49 halftime lead.
The Blue took its largest lead after a 13-1 run put the Blue ahead by 19 near the end of the third frame. Iowa used a late effort to pull within six with 1:31 to play but Oklahoma City shut out the Energy in the final 90 seconds to claim its first road win of the season.
Oklahoma City (2-11) shot 11-of-24 (45.8 percent) from behind the arc while holding the Energy's three-point shooting to 3-of-13 (23.1 percent).
Iowa (7-5) was led by Alex Stepheson with 25 points and 11 rebounds.
