Edmonton, AB - Thomas Foster scored Vancouver's only goal as the Giants lost 3-1 to the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rexall Place on Wednesday evening. Vancouver goaltender Ryan Kubic stopped 41 of 44 Edmonton shots in the losing cause.
Brandon Baddock opened the scoring for the Oil Kings off the rush with a high wrist shot from the slot less than four minutes into the game.
Foster equalized for Vancouver late in the second period when he deflected Brennan Menell's point shot past Edmonton net minder Payton Lee. Giants forward Chase Lang extended his season high point streak to 10 games with an assist on Foster's goal.
Edmonton regained the lead before the end of the frame when Lane Bauer buried a wrist shot from the left circle with three seconds remaining before the intermission.
Brett Pollock added some insurance for the Oil Kings just 24 seconds into the third period when he beat Kubic with a hard shot from the right wing.
The Giants will be back in action on Friday night in Calgary against the Hitmen. The opening face-off is set for 6:00pm.
