OHL Schedule Extended
February 18, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
North Bay Battalion News Release
NORTH BAY, Ont. - Five North Bay Battalion games have been moved into two weeks added to the end of the regular-season schedule, the Ontario Hockey League announced Friday.
North Bay now will end the regular season with a Sunday, April 17, visit to the Oshawa Generals. The original schedule ended April 3, but a plethora of pandemic-driven postponements and adjustments led to the extension.
The Battalion plays host to the Mississauga Steelheads on Thursday, April 7, in a game that was postponed Jan. 13 because of covid considerations affecting the Troops.
The Battalion visits the Barrie Colts on Saturday, April 9, in a game originally scheduled for April 2. The London Knights now will visit Barrie on that date.
Oshawa is at North Bay on Thursday, April 14. The game had been scheduled for Dec. 31, but the Ottawa 67's filled in for the Generals, who had covid issues.
The Battalion visits the Sudbury Wolves on Friday, April 15, after the postponement of a game last Wednesday night. It was deferred in anticipation of the schedule extension and the likelihood that arena capacity limits will be removed as of March 1.
The season-ending visit to Oshawa substitutes for a Jan. 1 engagement that would have wrapped up a home-and-home series over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Previously announced rescheduling of the games to March 8 at North Bay and March 15 at Oshawa have been superseded.
