Barber Poles Drop Visit to Kingston
February 18, 2022 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
The Ottawa 67's came up short in the latest meeting with their regional rivals, falling 7-2 to the Kingston Frontenacs on the road.
Brady Stonehouse, and Thomas Johnston both tallied their 13th goals of the season, with Max Donoso, and Will Cranley combining to make 30 saves.
The Fronts stormed out to a 2-0 lead during the back half of the first period, with goals from Lucas Edmonds, and Shane Wright. Jordan Frasca made it 3-0 just 2:04 into the second, with Ottawa finding themselves in a hole early.
Stonehouse got one back for the Barber Poles, with a laser of a shot off the feed from Luca Pinelli, bringing the 67's back within two.
Edmonds scored another with a minute remaining in the second, restoring the three-goal lead, but a beautiful goal by Thomas Johnston 6:55 into the second cut the Kingston lead to 4-2.
Unfortunately, the Fronts would find three more in the third, with Jackson Stewart finding one, and Francesco Arcuri scoring two, pushing Kingston to a 7-2 victory.
