
OF Logan Hill Hits First Black Bears Home Run at Monongalia County Ballpark

Granville, WV--OF Logan Hill hit the first ever Black Bears homerun in the ballpark, Sunday afternoon against the Hudson Valley Renegades. The Black Bears ended up dropping the first matchup of the series by a score of 11-5.
The Black Bears were struggling on the mound in the first two innings before Hill connected for a homer in the bottom of the second to make the score 2-1. The Renegades tacked on two more runs in the second inning and then proceeded to add on four more runs in the fifth.
The Black Bears started to rally in the seventh inning when 1B Albert Baur doubled home OF Casey Hughston who had reached on a triple. C Christian Kelley knocked in another run on a single to right, to make the score 8-3. The Black Bears struck again in the eighth, when OF Ty Moore knocked an RBI triple to right before scoring on a groundball to short by Hill to cut the lead to 8-5.
The Renegades added three more runs in the top half of the ninth to jump out to a 11-5 lead which was followed by a scoreless final inning by the Black Bears.
The Black Bears were led offensively by Hill who had a home run and 2 RBI in four trips to the plate. Renegades 1B Hector Montes went 3-5 at the plate with 7 RBI and two home runs.
West Virginia returns to action tomorrow evening to play the second game of the series against the Hudson Valley Renegades with a scheduled start time of 7:05 on Superhero Night at Monongalia County Ballpark.
