GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday assigned left wing Gustav Nyquist and goaltender Jordan Pearce to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Nyquist, 22, has played seven games with the Red Wings this season, recording three assists and a plus-two rating. The Halmstad, Sweden native leads the Griffins with 54 points (19-35 - 54) in 53 games, sitting just one point shy of the franchise's rookie scoring record. He is tied for eighth in AHL scoring and sits second among rookies.

A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Pearce has appeared in 17 games for Grand Rapids, posting a 3-7-1 record, a 3.53 goals against average and a 0.874 save percentage. He was recalled to Detroit on March 5 but did not see game action.

The Griffins will finish their season-high five game road trip with visits to Houston today at 6:05 p.m. EDT and Texas on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. EDT. They will return home for a Friday contest against Toronto at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at griffinshockey.com.
