HOUSTON --- Jarod Palmer scored his fifth goal of the season and Jon DiSalvatore had his third goal in two games to lead Houston in a 5-2 defeat to the Grand Rapids Griffins Sunday in front of a sold-out crowd of 10,239 at Toyota Center.
Joe Fallon made 32 saves for the Aeros.
Palmer put Houston ahead 1-0 at 3:42 in the second period with his first goal since Dec. 8. Gustav Nyquist tied the game at 1-1 on his 20th goal of the season 30 seconds later, and Garnet Exelby put the Griffins up with a goal at 7:36 in the second.
DiSalvatore knotted the score at 2-2 with his team-leading 24th goal of the season on a power play at 11:32 in the second, but Jamie Johnson put Grand Rapids back on top, 3-2 with a goal at 18:41 in the second.
DiSalvatore has scored 10 goals in the last 11 games and has points in 11 of the last 13 games (10-6=16).
Chris Conner scored at 16:02 in the third and Francis Pare added an empty netter for Grand Rapids.
The Aeros continue their six-game homestand Tuesday against the Abbotsford Heat at 7:05 p.m. at Toyota Center.
