Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat close out a six-game home-stand this afternoon with their final regular season meeting against the Peoria Rivermen. The Heat enter action jockeying for playoff position in a crammed Western Conference that sees Abbotsford tied with the Charlotte Checkers at 70 points in the battle for fourth, with the Rivermen just a single point behind them.

Today's game is the inaugural Pink in the Rink as the Heat partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in Abbotsford-Fraser Valley. $5.00 from every ticket purchased to today's game will benefit the Run for the Cure and Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show their support.

The Heat head South to Texas for a nine-day, four-game journey that will leave the club with just two games remaining away from the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre in their last ten games of the season upon its completion. The road trip opens with a Tuesday affair against the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center that starts at 5:05 PST.

This afternoon's Pink in the Rink game can be heard on Country 107.1 FM beginning with the 12:30 pre-game show, ahead of a 1:00 PM puck-drop. The game can be also heard on Country 107.1's website, theAHL.com, and on the Rogers Radio App for your wireless device.
