Game Recap: Devils Bested by Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- On the road for the third-straight day, the Albany Devils lost, 5-1, to the Syracuse Crunch Sunday at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter. Peter Harrold scored for the Devils, who go to 27-24-6-4. The Crunch improve to 26-27-4-4.

Harrold netted his fourth power-play goal of the season and his fifth overall. His tally came from Brad Mills and Darcy Zajac at 10:58 of the first period to make the score 2-1 at the time.

The Crunch established a lead early with goals from Mathieu Carle on the power play at 8:27 and from Luca Caputi at 9:02. After Harrold's goal, Patrick Marroon made it 3-1 with the man advantage at 13:40.

In the second, Syracuse added to its lead thanks to even-strength goals by Nick Schaus at 6:12 and Dan Sexton at 18:39.

Between the pipes, Keith Kinkaid absorbed the loss. He made 32 stops. For Syracuse, Iiro Tarkki had 37 saves for his 15th victory.

Both teams unloaded 37 shots.

The Devils remain on the road for their fourth-straight game away from the Times Union Center. The team heads to Binghamton Friday for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Fans can follow the action on ahllive.com.
