Bridgeport Islanders News Release

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers recently signed forward Brandon Nolan to an American Hockey League contract. Nolan, 23 years of age, played his first two games with the Sound Tigers this past weekend. He drew a penalty to set up a 5-on-3 power play goal in Saturday's 3-2 overtime win at Lowell and scored his first Sound Tiger goal in his second game, a 5-3 loss to Manchester on Sunday.

The newest Sound Tiger was originally selected by the New Jersey Devils in the third round, 72nd overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Nolan re-entered the draft and was picked in the fourth round, 11th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in 2003. He played for the AHL's Manitoba Moose and East Coast Hockey League's Columbia Inferno last season.

Nolan, a 6-foot, 185 pound native of St. Catharines, Ontario, will play his first home game for the Sound Tigers on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. when the Binghamton Senators visit the Arena at Harbor Yard.
