
Admirals Get Through Tigers and Sharks and Prepare for Bears

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals came away with one win and two losses after battling the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Worcester Sharks last week. On Wednesday, goals by Bryan Bickell, Troy Brouwer and Cam Barker were not enough as Norfolk fell to Bridgeport 6-3 in Connecticut. Friday night, the Worcester Sharks limited the Admirals to just one goal by Adam Berti as they beat Norfolk 3-1 at Scope. In the Saturday night rematch, the Admirals used goals from four different players to beat the Sharks 4-2.
The Admirals host the Hershey Bears on Wednesday night at 7:15 before getting on the bus for a six-game road trip. The trip starts in Binghamton on Friday with a 7:05 tilt against the Senators at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. Norfolk then takes on Hershey in a pair of weekend matches, with opening faceoffs at 7:00 on Saturday and 5:00 on Sunday at Giant Center.
STANDINGS
At 15-5-2-1 (33 pts), the Admirals are in third place in the East Division. They trail Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (17-4-1-1, 36 pts) and Hershey (14-3-3-3, 34 pts). Albany (11-11-2-2, 24 pts) and Bridgeport (10-8-1-3, 24 pts) are tied for fourth, Philadelphia (9-11-1-0, 19 pts) is sixth and Binghamton (7-14-0-2, 16 pts) is seventh.

TEAM NOTEBOOK
- With their 4-2 win over Worcester on December 2, the Admirals are now 8-0-0-0 on Saturdays this season - including six wins at Scope.
- Blackhawks 2004 first round pick Cam Barker scored his first two professional goals this week. He scored his first goal on Wednesday in Bridgeport against Wade Dubielewicz.
- On Friday, the Admirals lost their first game at home in regulation this season to Worcester (3-1). Norfolk is now 12-1-1-0 at Scope Arena during the 2006-07 season.
- The Admirals have six wins in six home games against East Division opponents, but are winless (0-3-1-0) in four games on the road against their division rivals. Norfolk has four games against East Division opponents upcoming this week - one at Scope and three on the road.

- On Monday, the Blackhawks re-assigned RW Carl Corazzini and D Danny Richmond to Norfolk and the Admirals released D Jerramie Domish from a PTO.
- After Friday's game, the Blackhawks recalled D Danny Richmond from Norfolk and the Admirals signed D Jerramie Domish to a PTO.
