Dupuis Assigned to Dayton

Syracuse, NY (December 5, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Philippe Dupuis to Dayton (ECHL). The team also announced that they have recalled defenseman Brad Farynuk and right wing Jeffrey Szwez

Dupuis, 21, has appeared in 11 games with Syracuse this season, tallying one goal and eight penalty minutes. He played in 56 games last season with Moncton (Quebec Junior Hockey League), recording 32 goals, 76 assists and 52 penalty minutes. A native of Laval, Quebec, Dupuis was drafted by Columbus in the fourth round, 104th overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft.

Farynuk, 24, has appeared in 13 games with Dayton this season, recording one goal, seven assists and eight penalty minutes.

Szwez, 25, has split time with Syracuse and Dayton, registering seven penalty minutes with the Crunch in seven games and 3 goals, 1 assist and 26 penalty minutes in 9 games with the Bombers.

Syracuse is in action again on Friday, December 8 as they travel to Rochester for a 7:35 p.m. match-up against the Americans.
