The Cedar Rapids Kernels return home from an eight game road trip on Saturday, August 5th to open an eight-game, nine-day home series with the Lansing Lugnuts and Wisconsin TimberRattlers.
You gotta be lovin it with McDonald's and the Kernels as the first 1,000 kids 12 and under through the gates when they open at 6 pm on Saturday receive a free mesh Kernels jersey. Stick around after the game as the Kernels present an awesome fireworks show. The Kernels also welcome guests from Vinton and the ARC of East Central Iowa. The Kernels and Lugnuts take the field at 7 pm on McDonald's Jersey night at the ballpark.
It's a 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Fun Day and you can enjoy $1 popcorn all afternoon. Before the game get autographs from the Kernels, then after the game go on the field to run the bases and play catch, sponsored by St. Luke's and Velocity Sports Performance. Prior to the game, the Kernels will recognize the 2006 Cedar Rapids Baseball Hall of Fame Class including Ron Hunt, Paul Snyder and Chuck Fulton. The gates open at 1 pm with the game starting at 2 o'clock.
Are you ready to go back to school? The first 500 kids 12 and under will receive an Angels lunch bag compliments of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Monday, August 7th. And bring your appetite as regular hot dogs are just a buck on WMT AM 600 Dollar Dog Monday. Arrive early when the gates open at 6 - the game begins at 7 pm.
This is your last chance to play hooky from the office and take in a Kernels game as 104.5 KDAT presents Lunch at the Ballpark on Tuesday, August 8th. Enjoy a triple play lunch combo of a sandwich, popcorn or chips and a beverage for only five bucks. The gates open at 11 am with first pitch scheduled for high noon!
The Kernels take a brief rest on Wednesday, August 9th, as they prepare to host the Wisconsin TimberRattlers on Thursday.
Enjoy your favorite beverage for a buck and support cancer research on Thursday, August 10th is The Kernels will be wearing special pink jerseys as part Oncology Associates Cancer Awareness Night. The jerseys will be sold via a silent auction during the game with the proceeds to benefit cancer research. Thursday nights are always 100.7 The Fox Buck-A-Cup Nights. Enjoy 12 ounce draft beer and soda plus slushies for $1, and bottled water or soda for $2. The game begins at 7 pm so be there when the gates open at 6.
You could win a trip to Las Vegas compliments of Allegiant Air when you come to the game on Friday, August 11th. One lucky fan receives two round trip tickets to Las Vegas courtesy of Allegiant Air. The Kernels also welcome special guests from AEGON to the game. First pitch is scheduled for 7 o'clock with the gates opening at 6 pm.
End your Saturday with a bang as US Cellular presents a great, post-game fireworks show. The Kernels welcome special guests from Solon to the game and take on Wisconsin starting at 7 pm. Gates open for this special night at 6 pm.
Sunday, August 13 will be a 'Zoo-per' day as KCRG TV-9, The Gazette and ESPN The Zone 1600 present The ZOOperstars! The ZOOperstars will crack you up with laughter. They flip, they bounce, they shake and just flat out rock with routines that fans of all ages love. It's also a 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Fun Day so get here when the gates open at 1 pm as the Kernels and ZOOperstars take the field at 2 o'clock.
