
Beloit Earns a Series Split With Dayton

Dayton jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Jay Bruce, driving in Michael DeJesus. The Snappers quickly erased the lead in the second. Snappers shortstop Toby Gardenhire singled to right field, scoring Edward Ovalle.
Beloit took the lead in the fifth inning driving in two runs. Catcher Allan de San Miguel doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by second baseman Juan Portes. First baseman Erik Lis hit on a solo homerun to center field, giving Beloit a 3-1 advantage.
Dan Leatherman worked three scoreless innings to preserve the win for Alexander Smit and picked up his first save of the season.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers travel to Appleton, Wisconsin to take on their in-state rival the Timber Ratters August 5-8. Following an off day Beloit travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana to face the Wizards August 10-13.
