No. 2 Vipers to Play No. 8 Maine Red Claws In Round One of NBA D-League Playoffs

MCALLEN, Texas - The No. 2 Central Division Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers (35-15) will play the No. 8 Maine Red Claws (26-24) in round one of the 2013 NBA Development League Playoffs.

The series between the Vipers and Red Claws will tipoff with game one Thursday, April 11 at 6 p.m. CT at Maine. Then, the teams travel to the Rio Grande Valley to wrap up the series at State Farm Arena. Game two will be held Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m., and if necessary, game three will take place Monday, April 15.

Game 1 - Thursday, April 11 - Rio Grande Valley @ Maine, 6 p.m. CT

Game 2 - Saturday, April 13 - Maine @ Rio Grande Valley, 7 p.m. CT

The Vipers and Red Claws met twice during the regular season. RGV won both contests. The Vipers topped the Red Claws 113-96 Feb. 2 at Maine, and won 139-122 at home on Feb. 12. RGV leads Maine 10-1 since the 2009-10 season.

First round playoff tickets will go on sale Monday, April 8 at 10 a.m. CT, and will be available at the Vipers Pro Shop at Uptown Plaza or online at Ticketmaster.com. For more information, call the Vipers at 956-972-1144.

Dates and times for the best-of-three semifinals have yet to be determined and will be announced when they are available. The semifinals and finals will follow the same format as the first round. A broadcast schedule for the first round will be announced in the coming days.
