2013 NBA Development League Playoffs Tip off April 10

NEW YORK, April 7, 2013 - The West Division champion Bakersfield Jam, the No. 1 seed in the upcoming NBA Development League Playoffs, selected the sixth-seeded Austin Toros as their opponent in the first round of the 2013 NBA D-League playoffs, it was announced today following a teleconference held with the league's eight playoff-bound teams.

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (35-15), the No. 2 seed as the Central Division champion, selected the eighth-seeded Maine Red Claws (26-24) while the Canton Charge, the East Division champion and fourth seed, selected the seventh-seeded Tulsa 66ers (27-23) as their first round opponent. The Santa Cruz Warriors (32-18), the third seed and the wild card team with the best regular season record, will play the fifth-seeded Fort Wayne Mad Ants (27-23).

The 2013 NBA D-League postseason will tip off with two games on April 10, when the Mad Ants host the Warriors and the 66ers host the Charge. Games continue on April 11, when the Toros host the Jam and the Red Claws host the Vipers.

Fort Wayne, Maine and Santa Cruz are all making their first appearances in the NBA D-League postseason, while Austin looks to defend its 2012 NBA D-League Championship. Bakersfield, Canton, Rio Grande Valley, and Tulsa all return to NBA D-League playoff competition.

The three division winners had the opportunity to select their first round opponent among the four wild card teams with the worst regular season records, with the team with the worse regular season record hosting Game 1 of the best-of-three first round and the team with the better regular season record hosting Games 2 and 3, if necessary.

Dates and times for the best-of-three semifinals have yet to be determined and will be announced when they are available. The semifinals and finals will follow the same format as the first round. A broadcast schedule for the first round will be announced in the coming days.
