The New Orleans Baby Cakes hit seven home runs to defeat the Salt Lakes Bees 13-6 on Saturday night.

New Orleans belted a three-run home run in the first, a two-run shot in the second and two solo homers in the third to get out to an early 7-0 lead.

Salt Lake struck back in the bottom of the third by plating four, highlighted by a three-run round tripper by Jared Walsh. The Bees cut the deficit to two runs in the fourth as they scored one run on a fielding error, but the Baby Cakes responded with one run of their own in the fifth to go up 8-5. New Orleans belted its fifth and sixth home run of the night in the sixth to take a commanding 11-5 advantage. The Baby Cakes produced two more runs in the ninth as they hit their seventh home run of the game. In the bottom of the ninth, the Bees scored one run but it was not enough as New Orleans claimed the victory 13-6.

Salt Lake starter Yoel De Leon (0-1) was tagged with the loss in his Triple-A debut as he allowed seven runs on four home runs over two and two-thirds innings. Leading the offense was Walsh who went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. Walsh has homered in three straight games and extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Jo Adell collected his first multi-hit performance as a member of the Bees after going 2-for-3 with three runs, two walks and a double. With a home run in the third inning, the Bees tied the franchise-record for most home runs in a single season with 185.

The homestand continues on Sunday night with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch against New Orleans and then finishes up with a 7:05 p.m. start on Monday night.
