Naturalization Ceremony To Take Place At New Britain Stadium Prior To Tonight's Rock Cats Home Game

On July 5, 2010, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present 15 candidates for naturalization to the U.S. District Court in Connecticut. The Honorable Warren W. Eginton, Senior United States District Judge, will administer the Oath of Allegiance to America's newest citizens during a special judicial naturalization ceremony at New Britain Stadium, home of the Rock Cats. The naturalization ceremony is being held in honor of the Fourth of July.

Honored guests and speakers include, The Honorable Warren W. Eginton, Senior United States District Judge and Timothy Stewart, Mayor of New Britain CT.

The 15 citizenship candidates originate from the following 14 countries: Albania, Colombia, Dominca, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom and Vietnam.

This ceremony is part of USCIS's annual celebration of Independence Day. An estimated 3,800 candidates will become citizens at 55 special ceremonies held around the world from July 1-6.
