From the Notes

Looking to Sweep the Homestand: A win tonight would give the Sounds their ninth consecutive win and would sweep the entire seven-game homestand. In the Pacific Coast League era, the Sounds have only swept two homestands. The last time it happened was April 3-10, 2003 at Greer Stadium. Nashville went 6-0 against Iowa and Albuquerque. John Wasdin threw a perfect game on April 7, and right-hander Ryan Vogelsong (currently in Nashville with Sacramento) had two of the six wins, including Opening Day on April 3. The Sounds opened the 2003 season with 11 consecutive home wins. The only other homestand sweep was June 12-20, 1999 when the Sounds won eight straight against Oklahoma City and New Orleans.

Will History Repeat Itself: In May, 2016, the Sounds had a chance to sweep a homestand Fresno and Sacramento, just like the current homestand. Nashville swept a four-game set against Fresno May 14-17, and won the first three against Sacramento before falling to Sacramento, 3-2, in the final game of the homestand on May 22. After the loss to Sacramento, the Sounds won nine consecutive games and finished the month of May with a 22-8 record.

Everybody Pitching In: Last night's five shutout inning effort from starter Jesus Luzardo continued a stretch of impressive pitching for Nashville. In the month of August, Nashville pitchers are 6-0 with a 1.17 ERA (54.0 IP/7 ER). Collectively, the staff has allowed 48 hits and 14 walks while racking up 57 strikeouts. In the six-game stretch, starters are 5-0 with a 1.43 ERA (37.2 IP/6 ER) and relievers are 1-0 with a 0.55 ERA (16.1 IP/1 ER) and have converted all four save opportunities.

W8: The Sounds are currently on their longest winning streak of the season at eight games. It is their longest winning streak since they won nine games in a row from May 23-31, 2016.
