EL PASO, Texas - The El Paso Chihuahuas (64-49) scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back, securing the series and a 10-3 victory over the Round Rock Express (52-62) on Monday night at Southwest University Park in El Paso. Round Rock has now lost five consecutive games to match their longest losing streak of the season.

Express starter RHP Tyler Wagner (1-5, 4.83) was dealt the loss after allowing six runs, all of them earned, on 10 hits over 5.0 frames while striking out three and walking three. El Paso starter RHP Cal Quantrill (1-0, 3.00) tossed 6.0 innings of the two-run ball in his Triple-A debut to earn the win.

The Chihuahuas combined to hit for the cycle as team in the bottom half of the opening frame as they stormed out to a quick 5-0 edge. Following a leadoff single by RF Forrestt Allday, 2B Luis Urias stepped up to plate and deposited the first pitch he saw from Wagner onto the berm in left for a two-run homer. C Francisco Mejia and DH Raffy Lopez then reached on back-to-back singles before Wagner retired the next two batters on a flyout and a strikeout. With two outs, Wagner fell victim to a two-run double by CF Auston Bousfield prior to SS Javy Guerra putting a bow on the rally in the next at-bat when he brought Bousfield home on an RBI triple that ricocheted off the wall in left.

Round Rock would produce three hits in a row to get on the board for the first time in the top of the fourth, trimming the Chihuahuas lead to 5-1. RF Scott Heineman started the side with a double and advanced to third when 1B Tommy Joseph, who was activated off the disabled list earlier today, punched a single to right. The next batter, C Tony Sanchez, smacked a single up the middle to plate Heineman from third.

Both offenses would trade blows in the sixth, but El Paso remained in control at 7-2 after the smoke cleared. Heineman put himself in scoring position for the E-Train in the top half of the inning on his second double of the night. Joseph then followed up with a two-bagger of his own, stinging a breaking ball from Quantrill down the line in left that allowed Heineman to glide home with ease.

In the bottom half, Wagner issued a one-out walk to Allday before Round Rock reliever LHP Brandon Mann took over on the bump. Mann struck the first hitter he faced, Urias, with a pitch prior to walking Mejia to load the bases. The next batter, Lopez, took ball four to bring Allday home from third before Urias crossed the plate on a groundout by 1B Brett Nicholas.

After E-Train 3B Hanser Alberto collected an RBI on a single in the top of the seventh, the Chihuahuas offense put the game away at 10-3 with a three-run jolt in the latter half of the frame. Bousfield led off the side with a walk, advanced to second on a single by Guerra, and eventually ended up on third when 3B Dusty Coleman reached on an error. A groundout off the bat of Allday plated Bousfield before Mann dished out two consecutive walks to drag another run in. Nicholas capped off the night when he produced a 10th El Paso run on an RBI single.

Round Rock will attempt to avoid a series sweep in the series finale on Tuesday night at Southwest University Park in El Paso. Express RHP Chris Jensen (1-2, 5.96) is slated to start against El Paso LHP Jerry Keel (4-1, 3.34). First pitch is set for 8:05 p.m. CDT.
