From the Notes

62 and Counting: Nick Martini extended his on-base streak to 62 games with a single in each of last night's games. He's hitting .338 (77-for-228) with 38 runs, 35 RBI, 12 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs and 41 walks during the streak that is the longest in professional baseball. The 62-game streak is the longest by a Nashville Sounds player in the Pacific Coast League era. Since MLBAM began tracking on-base streaks in 2009, Martini's 62-game streak is the 2nd-longest in professional baseball. The longest on-base streak in professional baseball since 2009 belongs to Andrew Velazquez of Single-A South Bend when he reached in 74 straight games in 2014.

Start Me Up and the Runs Don't Stop: Last night both Norge Ruiz and Ben Bracewell gave up six runs for the Sounds. It was just the second time this season that Sounds starters allowed at least six runs in back-to-back games. The only other time was when they did so three games in a row from April 30-May 2 at Colorado Springs. Chris Bassitt yielded seven runs on April 30, Kendall Graveman and Eric Jokisch each surrendered six on May 1 and 2 respectively.

Slow Starters: The Sounds gave up three runs in the first inning of game two of last night's doubleheader and have now given up 59 runs in the first inning of games this season. The -29 run differential in the first frame is the worst of any inning. Nashville's collective ERA in the first inning is 5.60 (82.0 IP/51 ER).

Roster Staying Put: It has been seven days since the Sounds had their last roster move, their longest stretch of the season without one. They went five days without one from May 4-8. Nashville's last roster moves were on June 26 when there were three of them. BJ Boyd was placed on the disabled list, Nick Martini was optioned from Oakland and Norge Ruiz was transferred from Double-A Midland.

Lombo Six: Steve Lombardozzi has hit safely in each of his last six games to match a season-long streak. During the six-game streak he is batting .368 (7-for-19) with 2 runs, a double, and 2 RBI. He hit .259 (7-for-27) with 5 runs, a double, a triple, and 4 RBI during his first six-game streak of the season from April 21-May 3. His career-long hit streak is 11 games, which he has acheived four times, most recently from May 5-17, 2014 with Triple-A Norfolk.
