Gray's Strong Start Topples Chihuahuas

Jon Gray pitched six innings and got the win in his first start since being optioned by the Colorado Rockies, as the Albuquerque Isotopes beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 11-5 Tuesday night. Gray pitched five hitless shutout innings before Forrestt Allday's two-run home run in Gray's sixth and final frame.

The Isotopes sent nine batters to the plate in their four-run third inning. The Chihuahuas and Isotopes have combined to hit 30 home runs in the nine games between the two teams this season.

El Paso infielder Diego Goris pitched and got the final two outs in the top of the ninth inning, his fifth career pitching appearance, with no runs allowed in any of his outings. The Chihuahuas won three of the five games against Albuquerque and took six of nine on their homestand.
