Nailers to Hold Team Awards & Playoff Rally on April 6th
March 29, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced the details for their Team Awards & Playoff Rally. All fans are invited to come to Undo's in Elm Grove on Wednesday, April 6th from 7-8:30.
The night will begin at 7:00 with the presentations of the 2015-16 team awards. The awards that will be presented will be the OVMC/EORH Leading Scorer, the McDonald's Community Award, the Carenbauer Distribution Plus/Minus Award, the Wine and Beverage Merchants of West Virginia Defensive MVP, the WesBanco Offensive MVP, the WesBanco Rookie of the Year, the Undo's Unsung Hero Award, the Project BEST Player's Player Award, the Wheeling Nailers Booster Club - Randy Stevens Jr. Fan of the Year Award, and the Riesbeck's Food Markets Fan Choice Player of the Year Award. Each presenting sponsor will have a representative hand out their respective award to the winner, following a brief video clip, highlighting their contributions to the team this season.
Following the awards presentation, the team will announce its slogan for the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs, in addition to the hashtag that fans will be able to use in support of the Nailers, as they look to capture their first ever championship. During the final six weeks of the regular season, Wheeling has been making its "March to the Playoffs," which has resulted in a tie for fifth place in the Eastern Conference Standings. The top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the postseason, and the Nailers currently lead Kalamazoo and Orlando by five points, as they are the two teams directly on the outside of the playoff picture.
When the awards presentation and playoff rally are complete, fans will have the opportunity to meet the entire team, receive autographs, take pictures, and more. Admission to the entire event is free, and there will be appetizers for fans to enjoy.
The Nailers have three home games remaining in the regular season. On Friday night, tickets are going fast for Duck Dynasty Night Starring Si Robertson, in addition to Biker Night Presented by Valley Harley Davidson. On Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will be attending the game, and Miller Lite is offering a special VIP Package, which includes a Meet & Greet. The following Friday, April 8th, is Fan Appreciation Night Sponsored by Main Street Bank. The Nailers will attempt to "Pack the House," and one lucky fan out of that crowd will have the chance to shoot to win a new car from Whitesides.
