Quad City Mallards News Release
WICHITA, KS - David Shantz made 37 saves and Landon Oslanski scored the only goal as the host Wichita Thunder (17-38-12) blanked the Quad City Mallards (33-27-6) 1-0 Tuesday night.
Despite the defeat, the Mallards remain three points ahead of the Tulsa Oilers in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the ECHL's Western Conference.
Shantz made his most vital save of the night when he stopped Sam Warning's breakaway bid with just over a minute remaining in the game.
Oslanski jammed in the decisive goal from the doorstep at 13:35 of the first period.
The Mallards return to action on the road tomorrow night against the Missouri Mavericks. The Mallards next play on home ice Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Tulsa Oilers.
