Kalamazoo's Blomstrand Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Ludwig Blomstrand of the Kalamazoo?Wings is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 21-27.
Blomstrand scored five goals and added two assists for seven points last week. helping the K-Wings to a 4-0-0 record during the week.
The 23-year-old had the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win at Adirondack on Tuesday, picked up an assist in a 3-2 victory at Reading on?Wednesday, tallied a pair of goals in a 6-4 win over Wheeling on?Friday and had three points (2g-1a) in a 5-1 victory against the Nailers on Saturday.
A?native of Uppsala,?Sweden, Blomstrand is tied for seventh in the ECHL?with a career-high 58 points (27g-31a) in 65 games this season and his six game-winning goals are tied for third in the league.
Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2011 NHL?Entry Draft, Blomstrand has 130 points (74g-56a) in 164 career ECHL?games with Kalamazoo and he has also seen action in 15 career American?Hockey League games with Chicago and Utica.
On behalf of Ludwig Blomstrand , a case of pucks will be donated to a Kalamazoo youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey , the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
