March 29, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Tulsa, OK - The Tulsa Oilers found themselves in a 5-0 deficit entering the third period, despite leading the shots-on-goals. The Oilers would mount a late-game push, but it wouldn't be enough as the Eagles won the game 6-2, on Tuesday.
It didn't take Colorado long to open the scoring. Trent Daavettila - who is second in the ECHL in points - scored off of a rebound at the 11:14 mark of the first period. The goal was Daavettila's 24th on the year and was assisted by Curt Cogol and Adrian Veideman. The goal was a power play marker.
Cogol would score a goal of his own in the opening minute of the second period. Cogol deflected a slap-pass from Barryl Bootland and the deflection beat Kevin Carr. Sean Zimmerman was credited with the secondary assist.
Colorado would take a three-goal lead when Channing Boe scored his first goal of the season, 6:04 into the second period. Tyler Fiddler had the only assist on the play.
Exactly 30 seconds later the Eagles would jump ahead to a 4-0 lead. Daavettila netted his second goal of the game, and Bootland and Cogol both extended their point totals with the assists.
It would continue to be all eagles when Everett Sheen scored his 10th of the season at the 9:45 mark of the second period. Jesse Mychan had the only assist.
Early in the third period Colorado would strike again. Kyle Kraemer scored from the point 1:51 into the third period. Jake Marto and Fiddler had the assists.
The Oilers would try and claw their way back on a goal from their captain, Nathan Lutz. Lutz scored at the 16:54 mark in the third period. Forward Ben Murphy registered his first pro point with an assist on the goal.
Connor Kucera scored in the final minute. Newly acquired Oiler Jacob Poe had the primary assist and Brian Nugent had the secondary assist.
