Wheeling, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announce today that they have acquired defenseman Cody Blanshan via trade with Idaho in exchange for future considerations.
Banshan, 22, has played in 14 games this year with the Steelheads, registering one goal and two assists. The 6-1, 220-pound native of Eagan, Minnesota was an eighth round selection of the New York Islanders in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The first 2500 fans on Saturday will receive a Nailers ball cap courtesy of United Bank. Sunday is "Family Fun Day," so bring skates and gloves and skate with the team after the game.
