The Gladiators opened the scoring early in the first period on a rebound goal by Daniel Bahntge. The product of Mercyhurst College netted his fourth tally of the year after Orlando goalie Ryan Massa stopped the original shot by Patrick D'Amico. The newly acquired Glad was credited with his first assist for Atlanta on the play, while Tyler Murovich notched his third helper of the year.

Orlando tied the game up ten minutes later with a shot from the left circle by Brady Vail that beat Gladiators goaltender Kent Patterson on the near post. The Palm City, Florida native was credited with his ninth goal of the year on a shot that entered the net and quickly exited over Paterson's shoulder. Johnny McInnis got his eighth assist of the season with a lead pass that landed right on Vail's stick.

After a back and forth second period and third period that saw both teams get denied on their chances, the game headed to overtime. Just 1:15 into overtime Murovich intercepted an Orlando clearing attempt and wired the puck in past Massa to claim victory for Atlanta. The OT winner was the assistant captain's sixth goal of the season and second point of the night.

The extra point gained in the overtime win now gives Atlanta 27 on the season and improves their record to 13-8-1-0. Orlando drops to 10-8-2-3 but increased their point total to 25 points in the OT loss.
