Multi-Run Innings Plague Lugs in 10-4 Loss

LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts (32-23) finished up a three-game set with a 10-4 loss to the Burlington Bees (28-27) Friday at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Lansing dropped two of three games to Burlington, the first time the Lugs have lost a series since a mid-May set against West Michigan.

Lansing allowed four runs in the second and four more in the eighth. Before the eighth, Andrew Case and Chase Mallard combined for five scoreless relief innings.

Case pitched two innings of two-hit relief after entering in the third for Sean Reid-Foley (Loss, 2-2).

Burlington scored five in the eighth against Mallard before Michael Kraft recorded the final six outs.

Bees pitcher Justin Anderson (Win, 4-3), pitched five innings before turning it over to the bullpen.

Tim Locastro bombed a home run to left field against reliever Alex Klonowski to start the seventh, bringing the Lugnuts within a run.

Locastro finished the series against the Bees 8-for-13 with an RBI and two stolen bases.

Jason Leblebijian made his 2015 Lugnuts debut and finished 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI.

The Lugs open a three-game set Saturday against the Peoria Chiefs with Star Wars Night and LAFCU Fireworks. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. with Lansing right-handed pitcher Chase De Jong (4-4, 3.84 ERA) matching Jack Flaherty (0-1, 2.57 ERA).
