TinCaps Take Series in Beloit

BELOIT, Wisc.- The Beloit Snappers lost to the Fort Wayne TinCaps in the rubber match of the series, 3-0.
There were all zeroes across the board with the exception of the fourth inning, when Fort Wayne scored all of their three runs. The TinCaps scored their first run when Michael Gettys grounded out to second base to bring in Nick Torres. The other two runs were scored when Chase Jensen hit a 2 RBI single on a fly ball to right field.
The Snappers really struggled stringing any hits together as the only Beloit player to get more than one hit was Jose Brizuela.
Beloit's starter, Junior Mendez, suffers the loss and goes to 1-3 on the season after pitching six innings, giving up six hits, three earned runs, and striking out three TinCaps.
Michael Kelly, Fort Wayne's starter, earns the win after going six scoreless innings and striking out four Snappers.
The Beloit Snappers are 23-32 on the season. The Lake County Captains come to Beloit to start a three game series tomorrow night at 7:00 PM. Fireworks will follow the game.
