July 2, 2007 - Southern League (SL1)
Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- The Carolina Mudcats return home for their annual Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza at Five County Stadium on Wednesday night against the Jacksonville Suns.
Limited tickets are still available for the game by calling the Mudcats' ticket office at (919) 269-CATS or on-line at www.gomudcats.com. The gates will open at 5:30 PM ET in advance of the 7:15 PM ET first pitch. In addition to the holiday festivities, the Mudcats will also honor NC State women's basketball Hall of Fame head coach Kay Yow and the 2007-08 Wolfpack basketball team.
Attending the 4th of July game at Five County has been a long-standing tradition for families across North Carolina, and this year's fireworks show sponsored by Time-Warner Cable promises to be the best yet. The current weather forecast for Wednesday is sunny skies and a high temperature of 90 degrees with low humidity.
The Mudcats' holiday-initiated homestand will continue leading up to the all-star break through Saturday night with fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights.
