
Moskos Shuts Down Senators in 7-0 Curve Win

ALTOONA, PA - Daniel Moskos picked up his third win in a row, holding the Harrisburg bats to just one hit in a 6-0 Curve win Sunday night at Blair County Ballpark. The win earns the Curve a split in the four game series and gives Altoona a 5-2 edge in the season series against Harrisburg (AA-Washington Nationals).
Moskos (7-7) had an outstanding outing tossing 6.0 shutout innings allowing just one hit for his seventh win of the '09 season. Relievers Michael Dubee and Scott Nestor came on to throw 3.0 scoreless innings to preserve the Curve's eighth shutout win of the season.
Jeff Corsaletti came off the bench for a pinch-hit home run in the sixth to break a scoreless tie. The home run is Corsaletti's second and the fourth pinch-hit homer for the Curve this season.
The Curve then broke the game open in the seventh scoring four runs highlighted by a Gorkys Hernandez RBI single. Hernandez finished the night 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI as well as extending his home on-base streak to 16 games.
Jonel Pacheco added an insurance run in the eighth inning with a solo home run. Pacheco went 2-for-4 with a home run a double, and two runs scored. The homer gives Pacheco 10 on the year to lead the Curve.
The Curve (35-60) now welcome in the Reading Phillies (AA-Philadelphia Phillies) for a four game series at Blair County Ballpark. The Curve will throw left hander Kyle Bloom (2-5, 3.43) against righty Vancy Worley (6-6, 4.33) for the Phillies (52-40). First pitch Monday night is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. with radio coverage starting at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network.
Monday features a number of promotions for Curve fans to enjoy. It's Social Networking Night presented by WTAJ and the popular Monday Madness 2.0 and 3.0 will be offered where fans can purchase outfield seats for $2 and 16 oz draft beer is $2 from 7-9, fans wishing to upgrade to version 3.0 can purchase a grandstand seat for just $3 to go along with the drink special.
