November 17, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK.--- Everyone's favorite mascot, Mortimer J Moose is officially the mayor of Moose Jaw today. As part of the "Get Gutsy" fundraiser, Warriors fan's helped raise $1000.00 on November 12th in order for their beloved mascot to be the Mayor for a day.
Mayor Glen Hagel will be greeting the "Mayor for the day" at 2:00 pm today in front of City Hall. We welcome all media to join us as Morty takes over City Hall and the Mayor's office. Please RVSP if you will be in attendance.
The Warriors and their fans got "gutsy" this past week, bringing awareness to the diseases of Crohn's and Colitis and raising funds to start "MJ Place", a cabin that will be built at Buffalo Pound for those who suffer from the painful diseases to use to escape the tough days they face.
Over 200,000 Canadian men, women and children suffer from Crohn's and Colitis this painful disease. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are the two most common forms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). There are many individuals right here in Moose Jaw living with both Crohn's and Colitis.
