Winther, Danyluk to compete for Team Pacific at World Under 17s

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan- Two members of the Prince Albert Raiders have been named to Team Pacific for the 2011 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in Manitoba December 28 - January 4. Forwards Mike Winther of Trochu, Alberta and Shane Danyluk of Salmon Arm, BC will be part of Team Pacific made up of 16 year-olds from Alberta and BC for the 10 team International competition in Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg, Manitoba. Besides Ontario, Quebec, Team West, Team Atlantic and Team Pacific from Canada, the United States, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland and Slovakia send teams to the tournament.

Winther, the Raiders first round selection, 6th overall in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft has 4 goals in 21 games with the Raiders this season. Danyluk, the Raiders 2nd round selection, 31st overall in 2009 was hampered by an early season ankle injury and has 2 assists in 9 games.

One of the Assistant Coaches with Team BC is Raider Assistant Coach Craig Bedard.

Winther, Danyluk and the Raiders are on the road this week as they venture into the Central Division for three games in three nights. They are in Lethbridge Friday, Kootenay Saturday and Medicine Hat Sunday.
