Vancouver Giants News Release

The Vancouver Giants have added free agent foward Richard Vanderhoek to their roster. The 19 year old from Langley, B.C. was playing for the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL. In 25 games this year, he was second on the team in scoring with 16 goals, 27 assists, and 43 points. He originally was a 6th round WHL bantam draft pick of the Kamloops Blazers in 2006, but has spent the last 3 seasons with Surrey.

"We are exicted to bring in a veteran player like Richard," said Executive Vice-President and General Manager Scott Bonner. "He has put up some impressive offensive numbers this season with Surrey and now we are hoping he can do the same for our team."

Vanderhoek joins the team immediately and is expected to be in the line up Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum when the Giants host the Regina Pats at 7:30pm.
