Moose fans can "Beat the Winter Blues" December 12 vs. Griffins

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with Home Depot, are helping Moose fans embrace the cold by hosting the first-ever "Beat the Winter Blues" night on Friday, December 12th when the Moose host the Grand Rapids Griffins at the MTS Centre at 7:30 p.m.

The night features a shovel full of giveaways including the grand prize of a Hardcore Hockey Manitoba Moose decaled snow blower, valued at over $1,000.00. The winner of the snow blower will be announced in the third period. Every fan at the game has the opportunity to win this unique Moose giveaway, perfect for the hardcore hockey fan who's not deterred by "Old Man Winter".

Additionally, all fans at the game will be entered into a raffle to win one of three other great prizes. Three gift baskets, courtesy of Tough Duck, will be given out each period which includes a Tough Duck duffle bag filled with a winter jacket, hat, gloves and lined work winter pants.

Also, the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a FREE Home Depot toque. Over 100 other items such as shovels, mitts, ice scrapers, or scarves will be given out to fans throughout the game to keep them warm and equipped for our typical Winnipeg winters.

The "Beat the Winter Blues" night will also kick-off the Manitoba Moose Winter Display contest. Starting on Dec. 12th fans are encouraged to send in pictures of their best winter Manitoba Moose winter display from a snowman wearing Manitoba Moose gear to a fantastic Manitoba Moose light display. Participants can send in their pictures of their creations to wintercontest@moosehockey.com. Your pictures will be displayed on www.moosehockey.com and the winner will be announced at the end of February.

The winter theme will continue throughout the evening with music, and graphics throughout the game. The Salvation Army carolers will be singing holiday carols on the concourse, while Mick E. Moose will be making his rounds handing out candy canes!
