Montreal Recalls Kyle Chipchura and Max Pacioretty

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forwards Kyle Chipchura and Max Pacioretty have been recalled to the Canadiens from the Hamilton Bulldogs while goaltender Loic Lacasse has been reassigned from the Bulldogs to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

Chipchura, 22, has played in 23 games for the Bulldogs this season recording 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists). The native of Westlock, Alberta has also competed in one game for the Canadiens this year. In 2007-2008, the Bulldogs captain split the season between Hamilton and Montreal recording 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 36 games during his rookie season with the Canadiens. In 39 games with the ‘Dogs, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound centre posted 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists). Montreal's 1st round, 18th overall selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft has played in a total of 150 games for the Bulldogs registering 83 points (32 goals, 51 assists) along with 109 penalty minutes.

Pacioretty, 20, has played in 29 games with the ‘Dogs earning 20 points (three goals, 17 assists). The 6-foot-1, 203-pound left wing, spent last season with the University of Michigan where he accumulated 39 points (15 goals, 24 assists) in 37 games. The native of New Canaan, Connecticut was a 1st round, 22nd overall selection by Montreal in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Lacasse, 22, has played in four games for the Cyclones this season and has a record of 1-1-1 while posting a 4.13 GAA and a .885 save percentage. Last season, Montreal's 6th round, 181st selection in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft competed in 47 games with the Bloomington PrairieThunder of the IHL compiling a record of 19-18-5 with a 3.24 GAA and a .906 save percentage.

The Bulldogs battle the Rochester Americans tonight at 7:35 p.m. before traveling to Syracuse for a match-up with the Crunch on Saturday, December 27th at 7:30 p.m. The ‘Dogs return to Copps Coliseum on Sunday, December 28th when they host the Americans for a game at 6:00 p.m. Fans can listen to every ‘Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
